Pre-Christmas Swap Meet

Several times a year, my mates and I get together and head out to swap meets - they're a great opportunity to find that special something you didn't know you needed or pick up another project that you'll likely never finish. I manage to exert some degree of self-control during such affairs, typically limiting myself to things that I can see myself completing... except for those instances where I just buy 'em anyway!

Today was a case of the former as opposed to the latter. Let's have a peek, shall we?

The guy at the back is something of a giant next to the others.
The three guys with the red helmets are nice models and I'll
see what I can do with the guy on the left.

In Killwager/Skullcore/Blkout there's a UN Faction
that will work well with this team.

Firstly, this batch: a collection of Infinity (I think) miniatures, the majority of which are painted. I actually bought them from two different guys, the set of 7 on the right being blue dudes and the other 5 is a group of 3 from the same faction + a big guy with a breaker shield + a guy wearing a coat/cape who has only seen a little work. The total price? It worked out to be $2.50 per mini. Chances are, if you're reading this blog/entry, you'd appreciate that's a decent price - I have a box of 4 minis from the same range that RRPs for $12.50 per mini. And the fact that these are painted means I can get them onto the table all that much quicker.

Speaking of Infinity, the rest of my shopping was one big lot of Infinity minis. These hadn't been painted but are 99% assembled and based - which is great because Infinity miniatures look awesome but are a @$@# to assemble - they're so finely detailed that old men like me regularly weep upon opening their packaging.

In the background are some more minis that were included in the lot. The guy on the right is a typical Infinity soldier - looks cool and comes with two different heads (helmet or not). The Copperbots Remotes Pack is also from the Infinity range. I'm glad to get them as I've been looking for something like a big nasty robot or two for a while now.

Price-wise, it was comparable with that first batch per mini, probably a little better value given there were untouched models still in their boxes and some of the minis are fairly big = more metal. More importantly, there are some very cool models in there that will go a long way to further fleshing (or metaling) out my collection. All-in-all a good shopping experience*.

*And I even managed to get my wife a gift too - nothing to do with wargaming AND I had better not detail it here, 'cause who knows when she might look into what happens in the Manshed!
