Eldar Rangers

I was recently involved in a 'show us you Rangers' thread on Facebook and had some rather encouraging compliments of the single Ranger I had painted mid-year.  Well with another 4 fellow Rangers primed and undercoated, plus a solid idea of how I wanted to approach them, I tacked them over the course of an evening and day.  I'm happy with the results too: one of the models clearly stands out more than his companions and they all share the same basic - there'd be no mistaking them as the product of a different hand nor not being from the same unit.

There wasn't anything really different about these particular paint jobs, rather further (subtle) refinement of the various skills I've been developing over the year to the point that I'm becoming increasingly confident with my work.  The old 'three-foot rule'* serves me well too.

An earlier test of these models also included some tattooing on their skulls.  I may revisit that again as it looked pretty cool...

*The Three-foot Rule recognises that wargaming miniatures are painted to be played with upon a table battlefield and are therefore generally viewed from three-feet away.  At that distance, the little imperfections that are visible in the pictures you see on a screen can't be seen and as such, you shouldn't get too worked up about shooting for perfection.
