On the most populated continent, several states and regions are still rebuilding after periods of open warfare against the Governing Regent and each other. These hostilities can be traced back decades to the collapse of order after an inexplicable annihilation operation by the Imperial Navy. This obliterated a city northwest of the Capital; Port Escar. Millions were vaporised, the vital MAGLEV link was destroyed and an environmental disaster followed. Over the next decades of hostilities and strife, millions more perished and civil unrest and lawlessness were endemic.
Zuchai export from the west became impossible to profitably move to the Star Port in Escar with the severing of MAGLEV line and the radiated "Dead Zone". During this time the fortunes and influence of the Freeperson’s Armed Revolutionary Collective (FARC) rapidly took hold in the state of Krugerland. FARC supporters worked together in collectives to established spaceports and acquire cargo shuttles to haul Zuchai to orbital markets. In the "wild west" settlements and towns had to largely fend for themselves and find patronage and security where possible.
With the eventual rebuilding of the MAGLEV across the Dead Zone, the Regent reasserted authority once again with the starports monopoly (undercutting FARC-operated export operations) and several vicious wars and covert actions.

Overview of the Area of Operations (AO)
As the seat of the Planet's Regent and hosting an Imperial Navy outpost, the megacity has grown to become a towering "urban jungle" surrounded penned in by a very real and merciless littoral jungle. Port Escar itself is well on its way to becoming a proto-hive with the central district almost entirely of converging spires and dense habitation sealing citizens away from the planet's unrelenting terrors and hazards. However, it massive scale and dominance are not saving Escaria from the folly of its ridged bureaucracy and decadent Aristocracy.
Areas of the west rated by the travellers guide from safest (1) to most hazardous (10).
