Inq28 Minis

During our 2020 Covid lockdown in Melbourne, my hobby-related activities suffered. I don't exactly know if it was just one thing or a variety of contributing factors, but the net result was little creativity and effort invested in my hobby. It certainly didn't help that we were locked down and unable to meet with our friends and play games!

I did manage one enjoyable evening with my local hobby buddies, catching up for some drinks and dinner - no game playing but certainly lots of game talk. I was delighted to receive a couple of gifts from the guys in the form of some unique, Inquisitor-inspired minis.

See, my mates are forever smashing togethers their own fantastic creations - builds that I wouldn't know even where to begin. I had been wanting some new models to paint and/or play with, to compliment my existing collection. So I put a challenge out to them: build me an older version of my own Inquisitor, Inquisitor Tylo Haariginer of Ordo Xenos. And the results were tremendous!

I can't take the credit for the painting or build - the above minis were the work of my talented friend Brendan. He also wrote a few lines about each of the minis and built them their own travel box - champion!

I also received this rather cool interpretation of the challenge from James, who decided that Tylo was the type of Inquisitor who just didn't know when to stop - hint: when you start thinking "Surely nobody would care if I was to attach an alien's claw to my arm?" it's actually time to vox a friend. Inspired work!

I hadn't been entirely lazy during the second half of 2020. I did manage to scratch together two more cultists (yeah, I think they're cultists) for my collection. I went a little more adventurous than normal using greenstuff, head and arm swaps and even a tentacle from one of my kids' sea-creature toys as that hosepipe stuffed into that lost soul's gob!

Here are some pics of these two guys in their 'work in progress' state...
