The minis are quite nice: they've got that Spec Ops sort of look which I like and having the inclusion of support mechanised weapon platforms - think big robots - made for an enjoyable series of painting sessions.
First of all let's have a look at the UN troops, which I gave a base blue camo scheme.
For the opposing mercenary Task Force Boone units, I went with a green camo scheme which has worked out quite nicely too.
Of the two robots I think the Razorback was my favourite. The UN Peacemaker is imposing looking block of machinery, but could have done with a couple of areas where could have applied some transfers to liven it up a little - I think I might even try repainting it again one day - as it was I just stuck with a "67" because that's an ongoing joke amongst my kids and my mates at the moment. With the Boone Razorback, I modified it So now it has ammunition belts feeding its to arm mounted weapons. I am quite happy with how it now looks, even though it likely presents something of a trip hazard on the battlefield!
Now I have to get a game underway sometime. My mate Liam is a big BLKOUT head and we played the beta version of the game previously whilst we're transitioning from Killwager and Skullcore. So while I'm not familiar with the current rule set, I've got a bit of an understanding of how it's meant to played, mechanics, etc. That said, it looks like it's got a decent following locally and internationally and it's always good to get involved in a game with plenty of players around.
