I've been playing Zeo Genesis for a few months now. While the game is still in development, that doesn't mean it isn't a lot of fun, and it has certainly been well received at Axes & Ales.
With the game still being readied for retail release, what's not available are 'official' Zeo Genesis minis - but fear not, they're coming too! In the meantime, we've been 'making do' with proxies. And wow, if you wound back the clock a decade, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. With 3D printing being commonplace and a multitude of STLs available - both free and for purchase - the problem with proxies isn't finding something, rather it's more about making a decision with the huge amount of choice available.
During the Christmas break, whilst I was holidaying at the South Coast of NSW, I took my time to explore and window shop some candidates for my Pact Crisis collection. Tell you what, there are a huge number of great models out there! I had dreams of making a Robotech Zentradi inspired force; however, there just didn't seem to be the variation and depth in unit models that I was hoping for - I decided that I'd park that idea for maybe a future alien aggressor force if such a faction should make its way into the game sometime in the future.
After much consultation with my hobby colleagues, I settled on several W40K Tau analogues made by the talented Pipermakes who has sssooo many cool models available! I feel there are some more to be done yet!
If you've made it this far into this post, you're likely (1) wanting to see the results of my labours and maybe (2) are interested in the road travelled to get there.
My current Pact Crisis inspired collection...
I've currently five Pact Crisis Zeos - Zeos being mecha-like armoured walking tanks that are the kings of the Zeo Genesis battlefield.
The 2 big boys: "Amaroq" and "Kulaq" Master-rig Zeoforms
This dude is notable on account that both its shoulders are magnetised, meaning a I can swap them out for different loadouts. Speaking of loadouts, I've also prepared a sword or should I say 'swords' equipped version. so that the Zeo can be all Melee, all Ranged, or Combo.
Small but scary: "Rakke" Ex-rig Zeoforms
...and how it came about ðŸ›
This is a bit of a photo dump, just to give you a sense of the process one undertakes when making such marvels:

I really enjoy scratch building bases :-) In Zeo Genesis, the bigger the Zeo, the bigger the base. |
