New Paints and another Mini

It has been a good long while since I last bought new paints, let alone a full paint set. After a serious number of recommendations from my mates, I took the plunge and purchased a set of 24 Pro Arcyls. I could likely go into detail about all the features of the paint now that I've had a chance to use them, but the reality is it works and nicely at that. I can't really compare it to other modern paints as I haven't got much experience on that front.

And here is the first mini I painted with the new paints. It's a metal Infinity miniature, 28mm, nice and futuristic looking. I intend to use it when playing Black Powder Red Earth - it would make a good Advisor or similar highly competent operator.

And the as for the paints...

One of the guys at the club said this was flexing (yep, there's a Goblin Green there), but here's a shot of my paint collection to date:

What I did was put magnets on all the paint bottles and they sit above my hobby desk, stuck to the wall. It means I can simply look up, see my paints, stand and grab my paints. Too easy!

Back to the Pro Arcyls. I've found that having the paints close by really helps when painting. With that in mind I got two large picture frames/boxes, built a shelf in each and put a metal strip on each shelf. For the paints bottles, I put a simple sticky-backed magnetic plaster on each. The end result was two paint shelves, each of which can hold 12 paints and, because they're magnetised, they can be readily moved around without everything tipping out. Nice huh?
