We've three Swap Meets happening over the course of a couple of months here in Melbourne. Last weekend it was the House of War. Next month it's Nunawading Wargames Association Inc (NWA) and then come early May, we're running our first Swap Meet at Axes & Ales.
I was looking for a few things and it was my lucky day - I found plenty of booty at bargain prices 💪. Let's have a look at what I got...
Firstly a collection of what I suspect are Infinity models. They're 28mm but less heroic proportioned relative to the GWS. They're sure to come in handy for some moderns wargaming, like Spectre Operations. That said, I've also got some other Infinity models that I built for F28 games but these are a little shorter and have thinner limbs etc.
I've already a few first edition Dark Reapers, both painted and awaiting assembly. These are third edition - where all but the Exarch lose their 'ears' - targeting devices on their helmets. I like the armour and guns on these models a little more as well. These already have a basic paint job, so I'm going to give them a wash (brown? black?) and maybe a bright red edge lining.
I understand these are Confrontation Miniatures. They're about 32mm and pretty 2D but look nice and evil like. These will make some good additions to my Reign In Hell cabal.
The final buy was a pristine copy of the game Gangs of Commorragh. As it happens, one of my mates shared the rules with me only last week and it looked really interesting - it's a 2D dog fighting game between 2 Dark Eldar gangs. Released in 2017, it comes with 6 Reaver Jetbikes and 10 Hellion skyboarders - now I need to build and paint them.
Apparently, the rules aren't particularly balanced, but that doesn't mean it's not a worthy project. There's nothing I like better than tweaking some rules too!
