Little Wars 2019
It's been a great distraction for me personally as well. Life, well more specifically work, has been near all-consuming, and without the support of family and the release of hobbies, I could absolutely see it getting the better of me. You haven't beaten me yet!! I'll be sure to share some good photos post event - see the above baby in action!
Other things...
So whilst I haven't been as prolific this year relative to last year, I have had a few projects ticking along, only some of which are directly related to Little Wars. Here are some projects I've been up to model and painting-wise. Gaming has been pretty much limited to Kill Team on a Thursday evening at Axes & Ales - I had to get used to the system for Little Wars! - but I'd like to get some more Rogue Planet games going again. Onto what's happening...Dreadnoughts - Imperial and Chaos
At a recent swap meet I purchased two Dreads - a plastic Imperial and metal Chaos. I've started laying down some paint on both and they're slowly taking shape. Kind of early days on the painting, so don't be surprised if you see these again in the months ahead. Truth be told, I am enjoying the metal Chaos Dread the most - there's just more character to the sculpt.Of note is the magnetised left arm assembly on the Chaos Dread. I mounted a washer on the shoulder that connects with a magnet on the torso so the shoulder can be swivelled up and down without slipping. Then another magnet on the shoulder allows me to change loadouts: presently I have a choice of a siege ram (?), wicked tentacle things or a crazy claw. Fun to do.
Eldar Characters
One of the guys from Axes & Ales gifted me two Eldar. I promptly stuffed them up, stripped them in a bath of paint stripper (the proper stuff) and dissolved his careful customisations! Arrggghhh! So I've guilted myself into making good and they are both coming along well. The Seer/Warlock is about done (just needs some basing) and his mate has only really started - I've used green stuff with both models and am slowly getting the hang of it.![]() |
| Just about done - I like him :-) notice the glaze on the robe |

| Only really a smattering of base colours so far but for the back of the cape, where I've also attempted denim? glaze |
