Inquisitor Tylo Haariginer

Tylo gave me a lot of trouble - I started and stripped him no less than three times before arriving at this current incarnation.  But now I've got a model that's growing on me.  That's a great thing about this particular hobby: if worst comes to worst, you can strip the paint and start again.

There were numerous things that troubled me with this particular model: his hair, coat and vest and the Reaper Bones soft-ish plastic.. they all compounded with my less than stellar painting skills all compounded by the fact that actually he just didn't do it for me.

It was only once I had 90% of his sibling Reaper miniature complete - Yana YaYa - did he click for me: his pants matched hers, his hair - I was thinking Dolf Lundgren, and rather than go crazy with his Power Fist, I kept it simple.  He struck me as an Inquisitor and Black Library books are always going on about Inquisitor's Rosettes and other such things, so I made the thing hanging off his belt his Inquisitorial Rosette - I painted it red for the simple reason that the word sounds like 'Rose'.  If I get some greenstuff I may try doing something a bit different with the model, but for the moment he'll serve... and dare I say, I think he's growing on me.

I think we'll be seeing Tylo rolled out during the NWA Sci-Fi Campaign that's been quietly brewing over recent months.  After finishing Ross's Eisenhorn book, I think I'm sufficiently inspired to host a game or two myself, set in Libuscha, leveraging my R40K Rogue Planet house rules.
